Here you can order the removal of the post-catalytic converter oxygen sensor (second lambda sensor) signal from the ECU software.
This procedure is necessary when deleting the catalytic converter.
The second oxygen sensor is installed after the catalytic converter and serves solely to monitor its efficiency. When the converter loses its ability to burn off (clean) exhaust gases, the second sensor sends a correction signal. The ECU, receiving this signal, enriches the air-fuel mixture in an attempt to improve combustion within the converter. When this adjustment exceeds allowable limits, the ECU logs fault codes for the second oxygen sensor and catalytic converter efficiency.
Primary reasons for catalytic converter removal:
1. Exhaust system tuning/performance modification.
2. Physical wear, melting, or mechanical failure of the catalytic converter.
Important Note: If your goal is not performance tuning, please ensure your fuel system is in proper working order. Otherwise, removing the catalytic converter will not solve the underlying issue.
Faults associated with the second oxygen sensor can also be triggered by the following malfunctions:
1. Incorrect fuel system pressure.
2. Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) or Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.
3. Unmetered air leak in the intake manifold.
